Plecanatide (SP-304)

A patented drug candidate that targets GC-C receptors in the GI tract. Plecanatide is being developed to treat GI disorders, including chronic constipation and IBS-C. The drug candidate completed its initial Phase I safety trial in volunteers, and completed a Phase IIa clinical trial in chronic constipation patients in 2010.
